This film tells the story of Algeria’s liberation from the French colony by gaining its independence. The film tells the story of everyone, including women and children, of unity and fighting together for their own nation. We can give examples of women going to the areas where the French socialize and dropping bombs in their bags by making them look like french. There’s a lot of violent footage in the film, and there’s chaos on the street. The most in my mind about the film is the violence and exclusion of an innocent Algerian native after the murder of a French soldier. I have been personally disturbed by the torture footage. France is actually a nation where algerians take an example. We can already understand that FLN leaders are similar to Europeans. Algerians now fight to become a nation whose rules are clear rather than a religious community. For Algerians, France is an imagined community. The film ends with images of demonstrations and conflict that gave Algeria independence. After the 1960s, Algeria gained independence with its own national flag and anthem. (1962)
